26.2 in Nashville

This Saturday Chris ran his first marathon in Nashville. If any of you have heard of the Rock and Roll Marathon, this was the country music version, where they have different bands playing along the course route. It was a good time. Chris woke up early and had to fight the crowds and rain, while the kids and I slept in(not really), but we weren't in the rain. A few hours later the kids and I made the trek to see daddy finish the race. He did awesome and finished in 4hrs. and 14 mins! We are very proud of our Daddy and all he does for us.Almost at the finish line!
At the finish line. He is the one in red way back there. Great job!!!!

The Country and Mud Pies

On Friday we went out in the country to play with our friend Sarah and her kids. They have 27 acres so there were lots of places to roam. I remembered the sunscreen this time!
Jed riding in the basket of a golf cart. We took a little tour and packed 2 adults and 6 kids on a cart. It was thrilling!
Making mud pies in the afternoon. This is Grace's masterpiece. The next day Jed told me he wanted to make more chocolate!

Nothing Exciting

We have had a pretty tame, run of the mill week. I did find some fun pictures though. The three amigos
There is a dead end street across the road from us that we like to take walks and ride bikes on. There is little, if any traffic, and all the people that live there are older so there are some VERY slow drivers. Grace received a new bike for her birthday and likes to race people on it, so this is Grace racing me, pushing the double stroller with both kids in it.
This was on the way out of the driveway to the road. Chris and I had to laugh at the outfit Grace decided to wear. It is a pink leotard over her jeans and hooded sweater. It was 70 degrees, by the way.

One last cute thing. Jed decided to get out of the stroller and race Grace on foot and her on the bike. He was in the lead, and not watching where he was going. He tripped and scraped his hand pretty good. We went home and cleaned it and put a band aid on it. Chris and I were still in the bathroom after he had left to go play when I heard him sobbing. He was walking back into the bathroom and said "Mommy, I still need loves." It was so sweet. I LOVE these funny kids.

Pictures I like

I just think these are cute pictures and had to share them.

burn baby burn

Dear sweet Olivia playing outside on a beautiful day. I love the look on her face, as if she can't be bothered with me and the camera.
Dear sweet Olivia the next evening after an afternoon at the park with some friends. I feel horrible. I am in pain, so I can only imagine what this little baby is feeling, having no idea what is going on. She is still beautiful though!

Cinderella!

So, I don't know if my slave driving ways drove her to do it, or what, but yesterday, after I told her she had to do her jobs, Grace comes to me dressed as Cinderella. (Below) I had no part in the costume at all. Notice the apron and head scarf, which is really a doll shirt. I played along and told her she must clean the bathroom, the windows, and whatever else I could think of. Next thing I knew, she was scrubbing my bathroom floor with a baby wipe and singing. Then she moved to the hall floor and cleaned while singing there as well. I have video if that part, but I have to get it off the camera first. If any of you know the movie, she was singing "Sweet Nightingale". Jed then decided he was a step sister. And would scream around the house "Cinderella! I need my breakfast" and whatever else he wanted. As she was bringing him his food, I heard her shooing the cat away and getting the broom. She then brought me a letter from the King! All was very funny till we had to go to Wal-mart.

At Wal-mart, I was called Step -Mother and had to refer to the kids as Cinderella and Drisella(step-sister). Luckily we convinced her to leave the apron in the car. She was talking about making her dress and what she needed to get done in order to go to the ball. When we got home, the game continued. This is Cinderella dancing with the prince. She made a point to ask me(now the fairy god-mother) what time her dress would change. I then had to set the timer and have it beep so she could hear it and run away. We quickly changed clothes and went back to cleaning, until someone was there to help us try on shoes.(Jed)

This is Grace with the lone glass slipper(as the other one broke when the guy,Jed, was tripped). I was great fun, and I have been hounded to play again all day today. Alas, Disney World has nothing on Grace.

My Big Boy

Jed has decided he would like to be a big boy, so we are attempting a real go at the potty training. I am a believer in going cold turkey with the diapers, so here he is in big boy underwear. It has gone well, so far. He is very proud of himself. Once he has it mastered, he gets to wear Mickey Mouse, hopefully that is encouragement!
